Acclivity

The proposed site redevelopment of Moorabbin Junction employs a methodology of lifting, cutting and folding the landscape in order to achieve a functioning “Acclivity”. This design approach was born out of a need to create a space which was easy to navigate, strongly connected to its surroundings, could be inhabited 24 hours a day and was environmentally sustainable. The landscape which as emerged from this process is one that has a clear network of circulation threads, which prioritise pedestrians and link key infrastructure. Additionally the design approach has resulted in an intricate network of slopes and shapes interweaving throughout the space, these are key in establishing the site as a multi programmable space.
