Please note that this business is not located in Moorabbin Junction but a short distance away in the Moorabbin Industrial Area.

Smack bang in the middle of Moorabbin’s industrial hub is an intimate live music venue perfect for anything from date nights, quiet nights out to the starting point for late Saturday night jaunts.

Every Saturday night from 8pm and every Sunday afternoon The Chandelier Room hosts intimate acoustic performances by performers from all over Melbourne. Owner Anthea Palmer, who sang professionally for 10 years, opened the bar in 2010 after taking over management of Sound Rehearsal Studios with the aim to inject a some life into Moorabbin’s nightlife.

“I’m delighted to be entwining my two great loves – music and business,”Palmer says. “The Chandelier Room is the venue I wanted to frequent but couldn’t find. You can witness amazing performances from a comfortable chair, with a cheeky red and a tapas plate. It’s brought some sophistication to music in the South East.”

The Chandelier Room itself has a lot of history for Palmer, who met her partner 22 years ago in the same venue before she took ownership of the business.

The Chandelier Room’s live music acts are all hand-picked by Palmer and tend to lean towards the smooth sounds of blues, roots, funk, soul and indie rock. The main focus however, is to present up and coming musical acts, particularly those from the local area, with the opportunity to showcase their talent on stage.

“The Chandelier Room is my way of giving back to the industry. I book original acts with a slant towards singer-songwriters. The sound quality is second to none, and the musician/performer experience is very important.”

The relaxed atmosphere of The Chandelier Room has earned it a reputation as the perfect meeting place for a night of live music and a cheeky vino or two. There is also a short bar food menu available, consisting of freshly made pizzas and a tapas share platter.

On weekdays, the space transforms into a rehearsal space for musicians, so it’s really on Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons that The Chandelier Room takes off. So make sure to check online for more information on upcoming gigs, invite your family and friends over for a drink and stick around for the chilled out music performances.
