Moorabbin Archery Club

2016 is the 70th anniversary of Moorabbin Archery Club, an entirely volunteer run club situated next to Waves Leisure Centre.

Open 7 days a week most days of the year, Moorabbin Archery Club boasts a large number of targets, tournaments, and accessibility for all ages and archers.

Moorabbin Archery Club boasts some of the best facilities for archery in the state, and is continuing to improve with plans  for electronic scoring systems that will allow direct input of scores live from the targets.

The 42 permanent and well-kept outdoor targets allow archers to shoot from distances up to 90 metres and the club also has an indoor range of 18 metres. Moorabbin Archery Club is the longest running club in Victoria and painstaking effort has been put into exploring the history of the club by members of recent years.

Come each weekend, the Oz Bow program and Moorabbin Archery’s ‘Come and Try’ programs bring flocks of perspective archers, most weekends see at least 60 archers. These programs are very family-friendly, as is the whole club, and this is how many young archers start off.

Moorabbin Archery Club also hosts birthday parties, school groups and recently had a fun shoot, raising funds of more than $1500 for the Good Friday Appeal.

Moorabbin Archery Club also has the tools and facilities available to assist shooters with disabilities, including stands that allow those in wheelchairs to experience the full fun of archery.
