VicTrack in conjunction with the City of Kingston are looking to continue the improvements around Moorabbin Station by create a new artwork on the Shoe Repair Kiosk which is a current hotspot for tagging and graffiti. VicTrack have commissioned respected artist James Beattie who completed the recent artwork at the Kingston City Hall titled ‘Moorabbin Junction’ which themes proposed to be continued to the Shoe Repair Kiosk, helping to link the Station to the arts precinct. The proposed artwork looks to also celebrate the vintage shoe-based signage and packaging to reference the long-serving use of the building. Abstract letter-based forms have been interwoven into the artwork in order to help deter further tagging to this building.
VicTrack are currently seeking community feedback on this artwork until Friday 6 March 2015.
